You will need:
- the template
- a golfball
- a craft foam sheet in black or dark grey
- a small screw-in eye hook
- white acrylic paint
- a white pipe cleaner
- a grey permanent marker
- ribbon
- a white pencil crayon or chalk
- a hot glue gun/hot glue sticks
- a paintbrush
- matte Mod Podge/ your choice of finishing coat (optional)
- a black permanent marker (only if you plan on adding lips)

Start off by painting over any labels/symbols on your golfball with white acrylic paint. You might need to do multiple coats of paint. Let the paint dry completely before moving on to the next step.
Using the hexagon pattern above as reference, start on one side of the golfball and colour in the dimples with a grey permanent marker. Leave a space and colour in the pattern on the other side. Most golfballs have a slight spiral to the hexagon indentations which is why there are 2 different head marking patterns to help them appear symmetrical.
If you want you can now paint/spray on your choice of finishing coat. If you do choose to use a finishing coat and plan on adding lips, draw on the lips now before you put on the coating.
Screw your eye hook into the center top of your golfball (between the head markings).
Print out the template (found here). Once you have it printed, cut out the 3 pieces.
Trace the template pieces onto your foam sheet using a white coloured pencil or chalk. You will need to trace 2 of the triangular pieces.
Cut out the foam pieces.
Run some glue along one of the straight ends of the biggest foam piece. Glue the other straight end to it, overlapping approximately 1/4", to create a cone shape.
Glue the triangular foam pieces into cone shapes as well. Leave the point at the end flat.
Glue the bottom of the golfball head to the smaller end of the large foam cone. Make sure the cone seam is at the back of the head.
Glue the smaller cones to the upper sides of the large cone.
Wrap the last piece around the golfball and glue to the top of the large cone leaving a small gap at the front of the head.
Cut 2 pieces of pipe cleaner, fold them in half and glue to the insides of the smaller cones, leaving some sticking out from the bottom, to create the hands.
Cut a length of ribbon. Thread the ribbon through the eye hook and tie the ends together with an overhand knot.
If you want you can draw some lips onto the front of the golfball using a black permanent marker.
Now you have your finished Doc Yewll ornament!
